A View My Window
I remember reading something once, which I believe was from Mr. Nate Berkus, that you should decorate your room with colors that compliment the view. The idea of using the colors from your view as the color palette for your room. I want to embrace this idea, however, the colors obviously change from season to season but I think I am most fond of the cool winter colors. I love the white with blue, grey and brown hues and just a pop of green.
My family room needs help. It is outdated, doesn't have a window treatment, the walls are still the builder beige color, the carpet is old and cheap. We have been in this home 12 years now and it is definitely time for a change. I never painted this room because I could never decide on a color, I am afraid to commit, but I am ready now. I'm ready to take the plunge and make some decisions. I have an extremely tight budget and I'm not sure were to begin but I think if I take things slow and get lots of inspiration/ help I will be OK and the room will look great.

Fall in Two Countries
"In the entire circle of the year there are no days so delightful as those of a fine October, when the trees are bare to the mild heavens, and the red leaves bestrew the road, and you can feel the breath of winter, morning and evening -- no days so calm, so tenderly solemn, and with such a reverent meekness in the air."

Seabar
Tuesday night I was lucky enough to have a much needed Girls Night Out, which means good food, good wine and most importantly great company. We decided to go to the restaurant Seabar, which is located at 475 Elliott Street. According to their website they specialize in innovative cuisine made with the freshest ingredients, concentrating in seafood and sushi. I can honestly say they deserve all the wonderful reviews they have received. The food was very fresh and modern. The flavors were amazing. In addition, I liked the fact that our server was extremely knowledgeable. She gave us really accurate and detailed descriptions of the food, the wine and the cocktails.
My cute coworker and friend, Jaclyn.
However, one of the best things I have ever tasted in my life happens to be the Chicken and Waffles. The waffles are savory and served with maple butter then piled high with chicken.
Udon Noodles with Shrimp Tempura
Seafood Tacos
Raw Tuna, Avocado and Salsa (so good)
Vegetable and Salmon Rolls

They tasted like the perfect mix of savory and sweet Asian flavors and the chicken was so moist and cooked perfectly.
You know the dish is special when you spend the next day sitting at your desk thinking about how you can get your hands on some Chicken & Waffles.

A View From My Office
Buffalo is a great city but it is one of those cities that doesn't really know how to reinvent itself after all the big industry left. I guess it takes money, which the city doesn't have, and some really well thought out planing, Buffalo has so much going for it because it is located right on Lake Erie and it is so close to Canada. I guess the city just needs to figure out a way to incorporate their history while moving forward.
