Plus Size New Year's Eve Looks

one/ two
I keep telling myself one of these days I an going to get all dressed up and go out for a nice dinner and dancing on New Year's Eve.  Maybe that should be my New Year's resolution for next year?  There are so many beautiful plus size dresses now that would be perfect for such an occasion.  I love the first outfit, that skirt is so beautiful.

Becoming Minimalist

This blog, Becoming Minimalist, is really a great reminder of how we go through life just doing what we have always done without really thinking about what we are doing.  I was reading this post about consumerism and I know I fall into this trap.  I like stuff, designer stuff, stuff on sale, clothes, shoes, books, you name I like it/want it.  This isn't how I want to be.  I have spent the last few years really thinking about my purchases.  I try to ask myself, is this something that is made well and will not go out of style?  Is it something that will add to my quality of life?   However, after reading this post again I realized there are so many other ways I can tame my consumerism.   I am beginning to understand my weaknesses and to experiment with tighter budgets on food, clothing and extras.
I also, found this post on Television so interesting.  I do watch TV a lot.  I enjoy it and I guess it sort of gives me something to do at night.  However, now that I am thinking about not only the financial cost but the physical cost as well.  My new goal for me this year is to cut back on my screen time.  I may even get brave enough to cancel my cable.

Apartment Envy in Oslo

With the new year almost upon us, I can't help but think about my living space.  Where do I see my future, what kind of space does my family need as we begin to grow and change.  Time has a funny way of changing your wants and needs.  This apartment in Oslo is so beautiful, what an ideal space for any family.

Christmas Decor at My Friend's Homes

Luckily, my friends are used to me whipping out my iphone to take pictures of their homes.  I wonder if it would look weird if I just carried around a camera, sorry for the poor quality.

I love this cute gingerbread tree.

I think a large black and white dog in front of the Christmas tree is the best Christmas decoration possible.

This is why I have love/ hate relationship chalkboard walls, they look so cool but I'm not artistic enough to draw such creative things.  My friend Kathie is awesome at it, maybe I could just have her come over and draw for me.

Blog Love

Do you ever come across a blog and think I so want to live with that person or at least be best friends?  Michael, the blogger and designer behind Inspired by Charm is so amazing.  I think his home could be my dream home.  Lately, when I have any free time, his blog is the one I have been going through the archives and collecting incredible design, entertaining and recipe ideas.  When he posted his Holiday Home Tour I was smitten.  Not only are his Christmas trees beautiful but he has some wonderful holiday ideas and recipes for entertaining, like a hot chocolate bar.
