Mayer Brothers Cider Mill

Recently, I have enjoyed two treats from Mayer Brothers Cider Mill, thanks to my dear friend Roger, donuts and caramel apple pie. I am not really a donut person but these were so, so good. The apple cider donuts were moist, because they are made with their cider, and perfectly cakey. I prefer a cake donut.  The maple donuts had just the right amount of maple flavor, not overpowering.

The caramel apple pie is a must for Thanksgiving, but I think if I served it again I would drizzle more caramel over the individual pieces.

However, you must get there fast because the bakery and store are only open through Thanksgiving. I'm definitely heading back before they close for the season.
The Cider Mill Store will open this year from August 17th until Thanksgiving.

Hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Fall Plus Style - ASOS

I have never bought anything from ASOS, nor do I understand their sizes but I am dying to get my hands on this Elbow Patch Cardigan for the Fall.  ASOS clothes seem to be way cooler and hip then me (did I just say hip).  They are young and fresh, which I really like.  Here are a few of my favorite items.

Homecoming and Goings

My oldest son, 14, had his first homecoming this weekend and it was bittersweet. I am so proud of the man he is becoming. Not only is he incredibly wise and responsible, he is extremely kind and caring.
However, something is happening, something is different ever since he started high school this Fall. It is like I can feel him maturing exponentially. I am beginning to realize that my time living under the same roof as my son is limited.
As much as I love watching who he is becoming, I really miss that sweet little boy who loved to sing and dance around the house. The little boy that would crawl into bed with us and talk nonstop.
It is amazing how quickly children grow and change. I need to make sure I am present and that I appreciate every moment of the next four years.

Handbag Lust- Dream vs Reality

I am going to Las Vegas in November, yippee!  I really need a vacation and Sin City is a great way to escape, great food, great shows and surprisingly good shopping.  However, I definitely need a new bag and if money was no object one of these dream bags would be on my arm.
